On April 25th, Jones Magazine hosted a private dinner for fashion and beauty professionals celebrating their "Best in Beauty" edition. A special thanks to Colgate Optic White for being the gracious sponsor and treating all guests to a delicious dinner at the super fab NYC restaurant, DUO. Fashionistas, beauty mavens, reality tv stars and entertainment pros mixed and mingled for hours - what a FAB evening indeed.

FAB Event Recap - The Chemistry Behind Cosmetics: A Scientific Approach to Beauty" - LIM College - NYC - March 13, 2013

The Chemistry Behind Cosmetics was a candid discussion held at LIM College focusing on "a scientific approach to beauty". We explored the beauty industry from a scientific and technical perspective, discussing topics such as college courses relevant to cosmetic chemistry, day-to-day responsibilities of a chemist, career paths, length of time from product conception to shelf, regulatory concerns and trade resources.

L'Oreal's New Consultant, Billy B.


Celebrity makeup artist Billy Brasfield, known as Billy B., has been recruited by L'Oreal Paris for his expertise in product development and consumer education. He will also create trendsetting looks for L'Oreal Paris spokespeople.

Billy B. has over 20 years experience, working with celebrities such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey and Britney Spears, at red carpet events in on the sets of music videos. His makeup artistry has been captured by some of the world's most iconic photographers, for the covers and beauty spreads that have appeared in leading beauty and fashion magazines. 
"Billy B. is an extraordinarily gifted artist, known for some of the most iconic makeup looks of our time. He was a natural complement to our brand because he is a trendsetter in the industry and inspires confidence in others," said Karen T. Fondu, president, L'Oreal Paris USA.

WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER


he TPG Pro Membership program is open to professionals in any are of the makeup and beauty industries including editorial, film, television and FX artists, business owners and cosmetics executives, hairstylists and estheticians, and bridal, salon and retail artists. Artists of any experience level are invited to be a part of the program.
