FREELANCE COPYWRITER

JOB SUMMARY:

Lafayette 148 has an immediate need for a freelance copywriter to work on marketing projects that will educate and attract customers and drive direct sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Producing editorial copy and headlines for Lafayette 148 direct marketing materials

• Writing copy for direct mail, Lafayette 148’s web store as well as for marketing materials including consumer material, email blasts, training materials and selling tools

• Partnering with members of the Marketing department to ensure all work conveys sales-focused product copy while being consistent with the voice of Lafayette 148

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA in Communications, Journalism, Fashion Marketing or English preferred

• 2+ years copy writing experience in advertising, direct marketing, on-line marketing or consumer packaged goods

• Strong knowledge of how copy relates to art, design and graphics

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

• Superior attention to detail

• Proven ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment, while working independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in some or all of the following programs: Adobe In Design, Quark, InCopy, Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet applications
