Event Recap: Learning & Connecting the FAB Way Event!

Event Recap - Learning & Connecting the FAB Way! In TV & Media presented by The FAB Network - ABC Studios - April 29th

An intimate glance into the TV and Media world

The event was hosted at ABC Studios and was a very comfy and cozy discussion that opened the door for everyone to feel at ease. We were able to have a candid conversation on how to break into TV/Media, as well elevate existing careers. Looks like FAB achieved its goal! What better way to learn than with the FAB family?!

A special thank you to the Honorary Guests for the evening: Glenn Ruppel (Producer for ABC's 20/20) and Kristen Carter (Writer for BET/MTV/VH1 and owner of JazziDreamer Entertainment LLC). All I can say is WOW. I left feeling so inspired, with tons of homework to do. The common theme of the night was to get your feet wet, always put your best foot forward, do your research, make industry connections, volunteer and don't be afraid of rejection because there WILL be someone that gives you a chance, especially if they can sense your eagerness to be great! Thanks Glenn and Kristen, for your words of wisdom and encouragement! You were indeed, FAB!

Words from the Founder: Living Life Like It's Golden

We have one shot at life - to live out our dreams, to love wholeheartedly, to challenge ourselves, to live right, to do wrong, to learn, to build friendships, to get hurt, to laugh, to go through tough times, to cry ourselves to sleep, to be unbelievably happy, to reach for the clouds and pull back a star, to fall and to get back up, and to experience life defining moments. We are placed here with a very specific purpose. There is no blueprint to direct us to our destined path. Faith, obedience & patience are the ingredients that will help us to define our lives with purpose, rather than mediocrity. We must live for today and seize the moment, because the mere seconds, minutes, hours, days and years that we forsake become our untouched blessings. There is no experience too small to acknowledge. Life is an intangible platform to our tangible being. We must be the painter in our lives that paints a portrait that accurately portrays our existence. Living life like it's GOLDEN doesn't simply mean that all experiences will be perfect, it means that we will strive to live with greatness and perseverance in our hearts, determined that we will become obsessed with attaining peace and happiness, despite the many obstacles that we may face. Challenges are inevitable, but if we live for freedom, life & liberty, we have no choice but to "live life like it's golden." We are the pot of GOLD at the end of the rainbow and we should treat ourselves as such. After all, we only get one shot to live life. We might as well take a chance on happiness, rather than be captured in fear.

Live without regret. Laugh without reservation. Love without fear.
Be great at all costs, even if you have to risk failure.

I encourage you to live a FABulously golden life! I promise to take my own advice, as I continue my journey to a healthy, happy and fulfilled life. Let's support each others' journey to a simply GOLDEN life!

Much Love,

J.Styles

Hello FABulous!

Are you truly living FABulously? I believe we must live every day like it's "golden", tomorrow is not promised. I will be supporting the non-profit organization Fights Cancer (FFC) on behalf of The FAB Network on May 1st, serving as the Key Note Speaker discussing the importance of living, looking and feeling your best, no matter what curve balls life throws your way! I hope that you will find it in your heart to come out and support such an amazing organization, dedicated to providing resources and inspiration to adults diagnosed with cancer.

Makeup Artist? Skincare Professional? Manicurist? FFC is seeking FAB professionals who are willing to volunteer their time and talent to provide mini makeovers, skincare information and hand massages/manicures to the attendees. If you are interested, please contact Jessica Styles ASAP!

Please see below AND attached for full event details:

Fights Cancer (FFC) is a non-profit organization of designers that works closely with other organizations and the fashion community at large to raise awareness for cancer centers and hospitals. We produce two major fashionable events and numerous seminars and workshops every year in the spring and fall. The events showcase designs straight from the designer showrooms, to the streets of New York City, and to the rest of the world. Proceeds that we raise are donated to various organizations and assist in offsetting treatment expenses to cancer patients and remission patients in need.

Please join us as we provide helpful cancer outreach to the community and provide a therapeutic workshop for cancer patients:

When: Saturday, May 1, 2010
Time: 1p.m. – 4p.m. Where: Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA 1121 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11216
