International Beauty Show New York was Off the Hook this Year
More than 57,200 beauty professionals in attendance; up from previous year

NEW YORK, NY—March 24, 2011—The International Beauty Show New York, presented by American Salon magazine was packed to capacity and drew more than 57,000 passionate and energetic professionals looking to advance their skills, see the latest and greatest in beauty and mingle with some of the top talent in the industry. IBS New York, once again, proved that the beauty industry is vibrant and strong.

Energy Abounds
"We are beyond thrilled”, says Dana Lupton, vice president/group show director, Questex Media Group, LLC. “We have continued on an upward trend with our overall event and once again, our solid attendance led to empty shelves in many exhibitor booths and one of the busiest rebooking sessions for our 2012 event. "The response to this year’s IBS New York Show from both the exhibitor and attendee communities has been astounding. We feel our pivotal purpose is to connect our exhibitors with their customers and provide key educational opportunities. We were thrilled to see such a positive result and know that the energy and commerce generated on both the IBS New York and IECSC show floors represents a promising future for our events, and the industry as a whole."

The Exhibits
"IBS New York was off the hook this year! Sales were extraordinarily better than last year. I can't thank show management enough for their support and continued efforts for better future shows. Keep up the great job. We’ll be there every year", said Greg Salo, president, YOUNG NAILS. Beauty professionals came to the show in droves and spent their time and money learning about new products and trends, as well as, visiting and shopped with old favorites. The Pibbs family was well represented on the show floor with large displays from Pibbs, Turbo Power, Parlux and La Brasiliana. Amongst many others; Alfa Parf, Clairol Professional, Wella Color Charm, Moroccanoil, Brazilian Blowout, So Cap USA, Dashing Diva, Farouk Systems, Enzo Milano, Takara Belmont, American International Industries, Brazilian Keratin by Marcia Teixeira, GKhair, Keratin Complex, Alter Ego and Arrojo also had significant presence on the show floor.

Traffic was plentiful as professionals frequently stopped in aisles where smaller exhibitors demonstrated their products and fulfilled a high level of sales. As Tonie Shin, vice president, marketing for NYX LOS ANGELES, shared, "We broke a new sales record! Yay! Thanks so much for everything."

In all, more than 565 haircare, nailcare, cosmetics, tools, furniture, apparel and business technology manufacturers were represented.

This year, the show saw sparkly bling-type strands and feathers from companies like Bling Strands, Hair Flairs, Hairfeathers.com and Pluhme. Also popular and crowd-generating were the moisture-enhancing hair follicle products, natural hair-straightening products and the colorful hybrid gels and polishes.
