The Public Relations Assistant assists the Director in the management and execution of public relations strategies and tactics relating to Aéropostale products and brands.

He/she collaborates with cross functional teams (Marketing, Visual,Stores) and external media partners to support brand initiatives and the growth of the business.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and organize the sample closet and handle all sample trafficking.
• Coordinate seasonal look books and press kits.
• Help plan and execute seasonal press presentations.
• Create and maintain media lists and editorial calendars.
• Track and monitor Public Relation department's overall deliverables and results.
• Draft and distribute communication materials such as press releases and newsletters.
• Coordinate store pulls with Store Managers and District Managers.
• Obtain gift cards for celebrity gifting and promotion.
• Field community relations requests and activities.
• Maintain the organization of the office and fulfillment of team projects, including administrative support such as filing, copying, faxing, returning phone calls, etc.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of integrated marketing communications and brand marketing.
• Detail orientation.
• Team player with ability to build strong working relationships. Who Are You Dreaming With?

Dreams are one of the most personal aspects of our mind. When we share our dreams, we are giving away a piece of our soul. So, I ask, who are you dreaming with? To me, dreaming is not a surface situation to be taken lightly nor is it a translucent thought that is easily understood. Dreams are rather deeply connected to our destiny and fate and all that we were put on this earth to accomplish and give to the world. Dreams are the gift that has been bestowed upon us, even before we were born. Dreams satisfy our hunger to be successful, to make a difference, to feel like we matter, to actually impact the world in some way. Dreams are bigger than words, yet so small no one ever sees them unless you use your artistic abilities to paint a vivid picture for your listener. No one will ever fully understand the complexity or intensity of your dreams, as you do. Dreams are but a mere thought process that has lingered in your mind and transpired into a goal that festers and grows roots in your soul and in your mind and begins to take over your body. Dreams wrestle you. Dreams become so engrossed in your life that you start to let other aspects in your life fall by the waist side as your mind becomes increasingly entangled in this precious thought that no one seems to really understand. So you think. You pray. You write. You ask questions. You try to explain. And explain. And explain. Yet you always seem to end the process talking in circles. You find yourself at the starting line, only to realize that dreams are but a mere thought, a mere futuristic destiny that often seems impossible, yet reasonably tangible. So, again I ask, who are you sharing your dreams with?

Dreams are not meant to be tattered or destroyed by the words of those that have no faith and walk only by the physical sight of those things they can see. Dreams are for those that have aspirations that far surpass the simple thought of just being "average." For those that are dream seekers and desire to be dream catchers, you are not fearful of dreaming outside the box and are actually excited by the unknown. A fulfilling destiny takes work and effort, no one ever said it would come easy.

Who you're dreaming with is very critical. It is life or death. Your dreams can crash and burn! Why? Because you are dreaming with the wrong person. Putting faith in those that don't believe in you. Letting outside forces taint your goals. Listening to those that walk by sight and not by faith. Result: You become the victim. Man can destroy our physical being, but they can never destroy our thoughts. We are the gate keeper of our own minds.

Who you're dreaming with should be your partner in crime. Your DREAM PARTNER will fight for your dream even if they don't fully understand it. They will support you when the chips are down. They will listen to you when you are dreaming. They will smile with you when things are going great. They will pump you up to everyone who will listen. They will give you a reality check when you need it. They will be the driving force between you fighting and dying. Dreams only die because we stop breathing life into them. Your dream partner will never let you leave ICU unless you have a plan B.

Dreams are equivalent to our futuristic destinies.

Again, I ask who are you dreaming with???

The Soooooooul Train has arrived! Viacom's newly launched network Centric presents 2009 Soul Train Awards. FAB attended the official 2009 Soul Train Awards Pre-Party. FAB was on the scene and grabbed some celeb pics and those oh so soulful dancers breakin' it down on the stage. BET's President & CEO, Debra Lee opened the program. The sexy as ever actor Terrence Howard and sassy & chic Taraji P. Henson hosted the FABulous event. BET's 106 & Park Terrence J & Rocsi were in the building, as well as the well-known and talented music producer Andre Harrell. The event is a prelude to an electrifying night showcasing “Breakthrough Culturally Diverse Designers” from the African American and Hispanic Community. The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) will present its 4th Annual Front Row Fashion Show on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Roseland Ballroom, NYC sponsored by Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC and Moët & Chandon.


With more than 2000 attendees in 2008, a sell out crowd, this year’s show will highlight 12 outstanding emerging and established designers as well pay tribute to trailblazers in the Fashion Industry with the 2009 Thurgood Marshall Fashion Icon Award. The Fashion Icon Award is one of the highest awards presented annually by the organization to individuals who embody the leadership, commitment and legacy of the late Justice Marshall by advancing and influencing style and fashion within the African American community. This year’s award recipients are: Naomi Campbell, International Supermodel, Sam Fine, Celebrity Make-up Artist, Andre Walker, Celebrity Hairstylist and Dr. Joyce Brown, President of Fashion Institute Technology. We are also awarding posthumously the 2009 Avant-Garde Award to Michael Jackson which will be accepted by members of the Jackson family.

Ok so today is a great day! The sun is shining and I feel so blessed to be alive today! I think sometimes its easy to forget that just the fact that we woke up today is a blessing and that we shouldn’t sweat the small stuff… Anywho about eight months ago I got an email from Jessica (J Styles) introducing herself and telling me about her organization and blog. So we emailed back and forth for a while attempting to link up/chat etc but with busy schedules it wasn’t easy. Fast forward to July 23rd at my blog party. I was introduced to this young lady who proceeds to tell me that she is the J Styles that I had been emailing months prior. Jess started FAB which is a professional consulting firm dedicated to fostering career and social opportunities for young adults to help build and enhance their careers in the worlds of Fashion, Arts, Beauty and related industries. So after finally meeting her, looking at her site, and attending her fab launch party I just knew I wanted to feature her on she-blogs…

All I have to say is that she is someone I am proud to know. She is brilliant, creative, driven and most of all works hard every single day in her business to help others…
