How to STAY focused . . .

Wouldn't you agree that it's SO hard to stay focused in the midst of our busy lives?! Specifically, speaking about our professional goals. Often times we put our goals on the back burner and never get to our mental to-do lists. As a result, we are filled with disappointment and thoughts of regret because we see no signs of progression. You have goals, but they seem so scattered and the mere thought of where to begin and when you're going to find the time is so overwhelming in itself. No worries, FAB is here to the rescue. If you are filled with TONS of goals, but lack the structure and time management skills necessary to see huge milestones . . . see below for some great tips that may help you to not only make a to-do list, but more importantly complete the list!!!

Tips to STAY on track . . .

- First things first, get out your CAREER JOURNAL
- Write a to-do list of everything you're trying to accomplish (this year, within 6 months, within this month, today)
- Separate your lists (today's list should be top of mind)
- Make a to-do list EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Check off your to-do list throughout the day (constantly remind yourself of all the things you want to hold yourself accountable for)
- If you DON'T accomplish some things on your list, re-copy it for tomorrow's to-do list
- If the task requires additional info to be completed (i.e. help, contact info, company, etc.) make sure you include phone numbers, email addresses, etc. so that it doesn't hold you up later
- Date all of your to-do lists in case you need to refer to it at a later date
- If your goals listed on your to-do list is separate from your job responsibilities, make sure that you designate the appropriate time to complete your personal goals
- Don't just write down the "easy" things that you KNOW you can accomplish, write down ALL of your goals . . . the point is progression! If you need help to complete the task, ASK for help and STOP making excuses!
- Once you complete the task, check it off!

Moral of the story:
Organization and time management are the 2 major key factors needed to staying focused on tackling the to-do lists so closely tied to your dreams!!

Time to make your to-do list, get started, GO!
