Elizabeth A. Smith, President of Avon, is responsible for Avon's world-wide product-to-market processes, infrastructure and systems, which includes Global Brand Marketing, Global Sales, Global Supply Chain and Global Information Technology. Ms. Smith joined Avon in January 2005 as President, Global Brand and was given the additional role of leading Avon North America in August 2005.

Prior to joining Avon, Ms. Smith worked for 14 years at Kraft Foods Inc, where most recently she served as the Group Vice President and President of the U.S. Beverages and Grocery Sectors, overseeing a total of $6 billion in sales. Previously, she served as Group Vice President of Kraft Foods North America and President of Kraft Beverages, Desserts and Cereals – a $4 billion dollar sector which includes Maxwell House, Crystal Light and Cool Whip. From 2000 to 2002, Ms. Smith was Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Beverage Division, overseeing the successful expansion of the “Ready to Drink” businesses. Her career at Kraft also includes working as Category Business Director and General Manager for Kraft’s Callard & Bowser-Suchard, where she helped develop Altoids mints into a leading brand. In the beginning of her tenure with the company, Ms. Smith supervised the revitalization of the Jell-O brand and was recognized by Advertising Age magazine as one of the top marketers in 1996. Prior to working at Kraft, Ms. Smith worked as a financial analyst in private placements at Paine Webber, Inc.

Ms. Smith has been on Fortune Magazine’s “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” list in 2007 and 2008.
Ms. Smith is a member of the Boards of Directors of Staples and the Personal Care Products Council. She holds a B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
