"How Women are Potrayed by the Media" - Saturday, October 24th

New York City - October 15, 2009 -- The Phenomenal Women Group, Inc. (TPWG), in association with Medgar Evers College, will host the panel discussion “How Women are Portrayed by the Media” on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 12pm to 3pm in “Founders Hall,” at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn.

This panel will be used a platform where both women and men discuss their experiences, views and effects on such a lucrative topic. The panelists are a group of versatile and distinguished people from all different backgrounds and industries. Shayna D of Sirius XM Radio and The Diva Lounge will moderate the panel which includes Eb the Celeb, Cocoa Bella, Lucinda Cross, Monique Alexander, Renee Jennings, Joseph Huff, Corrine Corybtee and more. Participants of all ages and socio demographics are invited to lend their voices in this breakthrough event. There will be great and controversial topics covered. There will also be a question and answer segment in which the audience will be able to ask questions and or make comments.

The discussion will include, but is not limited to: Media Portrayals of Girls and Women Stereotypes Effects on body image and self-identity Ramifications in sports and politics Economic interests behind the objectification and eroticization of women. Admission is free.
