EVENT DETAILS:
The Makeup Challenge is a series of competitions geared towards finding the best underground makeup talent in New York City! Launched back in November 2009, we had a great turnout, with over 75 attendees and a special appearance from Sandhurst Miggins from Bravo's Make Me a Supermodel. Eight makeup artists competed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes and worked their brushes within 30 minutes and under bad lighting!

This time around, six makeup artists will compete for prizes and gain exposure to add to their resumes and best of all, gain the street credit they deserve! Our expert panel of judges include - Sahara Davenport from RuPaul's Drag Race, Anne DeMarco & Charles Douglas, celebrity makeup artists and founders of Rouge Makeup Studio, Megan Garmers, founder of the Bridal Beauty Artists Network, and Sabrina Ginsburg, who was the 1st Place Winner from our last competition. This season's competition is presented by Gorgeous on the Go, Chic Studios School of Makeup Artistry and Stephanie Flor Makeup Artistry, with prizes from Crystal Wright, the master educator in makeup, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, and celebrity makeup artist Scott Barnes.

This event is produced to bring exposure to the online network that started it all - The New York Makeup Artists Meetup Group (www.meetup.com/nycmakeupartists). With over 450 members, this group is the only free online network for professional makeup artists and beauty
professionals. I've served as the group's organizer for the past three years and continue having fun organizing events for our membership! This group empowers individuals to pursue or enhance their career in makeup, at every experience level. We've also formed a sister group for
hairstylists - The New York City Hairstylists Meetup Group (www.meetup.com/nychairstylists).

The Spring 2010 Makeup Challenge will be held on Monday, March 22nd, 2010 at Velour Lounge NYC. Tickets are $5 on the guest list, $10 at the door.
