JOB DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE & SCOPE:
Responsible for assisting Director of Corporate Communications and Director of New Media in implementation of strategic communications goals for all public relations efforts related to Polo Ralph Lauren.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Proactively develops and maintains excellent relationships with press.

* Ensure that all messages are 'brand right' and are consistent with the Polo Ralph Lauren aesthetic.

* Writes press releases and creates media lists and drafts, edits and obtains approval for quotes/QA's for editorials ensuring consistency with the Polo Ralph Lauren voice.

* Manages selection, rights confirmation, approval and technical delivery of all Corporate images.

* Assists with development of press strategies for store openings, events and major corporation initiatives.* Continuously liaises with Licensee Public Relations and Brand Managers to ensure consistent communication strategy and Public Relations process compliance for licensed product (eyewear, watches, fragrances).

* Coordinates House Photographers & Images for corporate events in US and Europe.

* Supports Fashion Public Relations team with event logistics during runway shows.

* Manages electronic press kit design and execution in partnership with Interactive Creative Group.

* Manages photography, retouching and approval of product images for electronic press kits.

* Creates and maintains Global Corporate Press guidelines, processes and templates.

* Oversees production of corporate press coverage reports.

* Research findings and analysis management and maintenance of fact-checking documents.

* Oversees daily management of department systems (such as clips, administration, information flow, database, calendars), archive project management and systems management of images and daily press communication to Senior Management and company.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor of Arts, preferably in journalism and/or communications.

* 3-4 years experience in Public Relations or Corporate Communications.
* Fashion industry experience preferred in a corporate setting and with luxury product.

* Advanced proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook applications.

* Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, photographic qualities, image resolutions and file types.* Writing skills mandatory (press releases, strategy memos, brand plans).

* Superior verbal communication skills with ability to respond appropriately to difficult questions and request on an immediate basis.

* Understanding, appreciation and articulation of the brand.

* Ability to manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
